Warrior Women Sweep Beantown

The Wayne State Warrior Women (2-2-0) reversed their fortunes over the weekend as they traveled to Chestnut Hill and swept the Boston College Eagles at the Conte Forum.

The Warrior earned their first win of the season on Saturday afternoon when Jessica Snelgrove scored with just 14 second left on the clock. Kelly Zamora helped the effort with a goal and assist and Tina Thibideau stopped 18 of 21 shots in net to grab the win.

The Green and Gold got a goal and two more assists from Zamora on Sunday afternoon as the Warriors stole another 4-3 win. WSU outgunned BC 30-27 and scored on 3 of 6 power-play attempts to even their overall record at 2-2. Tina Thibideau made the start again in net and turned away 24 of 27 shots.

The Warriors will continue their brutal, season opening six-game road trip with a pair of games against the Clarkson Golden Knights at the Cheel Arena in Potsdeam, N.Y. this weekend.
