The CCHA today announced that freshman forward Matt Stefanishion of Ferris State has been suspended for two games as the result of a kicking incident that occurred in a game at Michigan State on Nov. 5.
Stefanishion kicked MSU sophomore Tommy Goebel and Goebel required internal and external stitches.
The supplemental disciplinary action was taken by the CCHA after a review of the incident that occurred at 17:42 of the third period and resulted in Stefanishion receiving a major penalty for kicking and a disqualification penalty.
Stefanishion will be required to serve this suspension during Ferris State's next regularly-scheduled series on Nov. 12-13 against Connecticut.
