LSSU signs two for '05-06

Lake Superior State has again looked to Saskatchewan for future Lakers.

The Kindersley Klippers of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League announced 20-year-old forwards Troy Schwab and Josh Sim have committed to the Lakers for 2005-06.

Schwab currently leads the SJHL in scoring with 12 goals and 26 assists in 21 games. The 5-foot-8, 185-pound native of Kindersley has been with the Klippers for four seasons and has won a pair of Membercare Cups. He has averaged over a point per game for each of the last three seasons. In addition to leading the team in scoring during the 2003-04 campaign with 65 points, Schwab led Kindersley with 11 goals in 16 playoff contests during last year's championship run.

Sim, a 5-foot-10, 183-pound native of Saskatoon, has been injured for the last few weeks and has participated in just twelve games this season. However, he was enjoying a breakout year with eight goals and 11 assists. Sim had ten goals and 17 asssists in 49 games last season.

Lake Superior has enjoyed recruiting in the SJHL in recent years. They currently sport four ex-SJHLers on the roster in Trent Campbell (La Ronge), Kory Scoran (Melfort), Derek Smith (Estevan), and Nathan Ward (Weyburn).
