Wayne State freshman goaltender Valery Turcotte has been selected College Hockey America's Rookie of the Week.
Turcotte went 1-1 last weekend in a home series against Colgate. In 120 minutes of action, she stopped 39 of 43 shots (.907 save percentage). Two of the four goals she allowed were power-play markers. Saturday's win was her first collegiate victory.
WSU hits the road again this weekend for a two-game set at Maine on Saturday and Sunday.
