Nothing like a little college hockey to put you in the Holiday mood and with four State teams in action, you might feel like you’ve just gone to “Festivus” heaven.
The biggest collection of teams will be congregated in downtown Detroit as Michigan, Michigan State, and Michigan Tech join New Hampshire for the 40th annual Great Lakes Invitational at the Joe Louis Arena.
The action will start at 4:35 on Wednesday as the Wolverines and Huskies match-up for the 11th time in the semi-final round. The Maize and Blue are in search of their 12th Tourney title and have bested the Huskies in three straight GLI's.
The late game will feature the Spartans getting their second shot at the Wildcats. The ‘Cats blasted the Green and White 5-1, back on October 17th at the Munn Arena in East Lansing.
The GLI will conclude on Thursday with the third place game at 4:35 and then the Championship game will face off at approximately 8:05 P.M.
Ferris State will also hit the holiday ice as they return to Madison, Wisconsin as the defending champions of the Bank One Badger Showdown. The Bulldogs will open up against Clarkson at 4:05 on Friday and then face either Wisconsin or Yale in the third place or championship game on Saturday.
