Michigan Tech's freshman, Jimmy Kerr, was named the WCHA Rookie of the Week for his 3 point weekend against Mankato State. All three points came in Saturday's contest were he notched Tech's first 2 goals on the night, and assisted on the game winning goal. The goals were Kerr's 4th and 5th of the year.
The second of the two goals was a shorthanded goal, Kerr's first. Kerr has been in the lineup all year, playing in 28 of the 29 games thus far. As of late, he has been paired with John Hartman and Mike Botavanja.
Kerr has been coming on strong the second half of the year, and will be the focus of my interview this week.
