Cam Ellsworth, goalie of the Michigan Tech Huskies (7-19-1), was named Defensive Player of the Week for the WCHA. This is the 3rd time in the last 5 weeks that he has earned this honor. Cam lead the Huskies to a road sweep of the UMD Bulldogs over the weekend. These were the 4th and 5th wins away from home, and helped Tech move into a tie for 9th in the WCHA.
Ellsworth stopped 89 of 93 shots this past weekend, and now has 6 wins on the year. Since January 1st, Cam has a .948 save percentage and a 2.11 goals against average. He was also a huge part in holding UMD to 0 of 10 on the power play.
