MiCHO Power Poll 12.5.06

The Michigan Wolverines lost Friday night to Western Michigan, but rebounded for a win Saturday to stay atop the MiCHO Power Poll for the fifth straight week. There is a new No. 2 team as Lake Superior State swept Northern Michigan, who dropped to No. 6. Michigan State moves down to No. 3 and Michigan Tech climbs to No. 4.

1) Michigan, 12-5-0 (split with Western)
2) Lake Superior State, 10-5-1 (swept Northern Michigan)
3) Michigan State, 7-7-1 (split with Ohio State)
4) Michigan Tech, 6-6-2 (swept by St. Cloud State)
5) Western Michigan, 6-7-1 (split with Michigan)
6) Northern Michigan, 7-8-2 (swept by Lake Superior)
7) Ferris State, 4-10-1 (swept at Miami)
8) Wayne State, 3-12-0 (swept by Bemidji State)

Each week, MichiganCollegeHockey.com editors Matt Mackinder and Tom Balog will compile the MiCHO Power Poll. The poll will comprise the eight Division I teams in the state of Michigan.

Hell Yeah! Lakers at 2, Techies 4 and Nordern at 6. We rule the UP. Suck on that!

While I won't say that I would have voted exactly this way because I am a bit of a homer...I can handle it. Michigan Tech got swept, so while I think MTU is better than MSU I can't really back that up. I would also say that I would also have switched NMU and WMU although based on last weekends results with Western's split with Michigan, I can't argue with it. All in all, I think MiCHO put together a good poll this week...
