Wayne State Warrior freshman forward Jared Katz was named the College Hockey America Rookie of the Week, for his performance last weekend against conference rival Alabama-Huntsville.Katz assisted on the Warriors only goal in Friday’s opener against UAH, and added a goal and assist in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Chargers.
Katz has a point in nine of his last 11 games and leads all CHA rookies with eight goals on the season.
The award is his third of the season.
The Warriors will host the 17th ranked Niagara Purple Eagles back at the Coliseum this Friday and Saturday night.
