MSU gets commitment from Soo sniper

Michigan State has picked up a commitment from Brett Berlini, a forward with the Soo Thunderbirds of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League.

Perlini was reportedly heavily recruited by a plethora of NCAA schools, and received a lot of interest from the OHL.

Not coming to East Lansing until 2008, Perlini will almost assuredly be pressured by the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, the OHL team that took him with the first pick of the third round of the OHL Priority Selection last May.

This year, the 6-foot-1, 170-pound Perlini leads the Thunderbirds in points, is eighth in NOJHL scoring with 47 points (32 goals, 15 assists), second in goals and first in power-play goals (18) in 42 games as a 1990 birthdate. He won't turn 17 until June 14.
