by Mike Burrill/LSSU Beat WriterLake Superior State senior defenseman Steven Oleksy (pictured) and former Laker forward Chris Peterson will play for the U.S. InLine National Team at the 2008 International Ice Hockey Federation InLine Hockey World Championship in Bratislava, Slovakia, June 21-28.
The tournament will include 16 teams in two pools. Team USA opens June 22 against Germany.
Peterson, a 2004 LSSU grad and Macomb native, served as captain and totaled four goals and two assists for the gold medal-winning U.S. Team in 2006. He also helped the U.S. to a gold medal in 2004 and bronze in 2005. Peterson totaled nine goals and 24 assists for 33 points as a Laker.
Oleksy (Chesterfield) totaled one goal and six assists for Lake State last season. He only has one year of eligibility remaining due to the fact he played one season of collegiate baseball.
