Spartans reportedly get skater for 2011

Compiled by MiCHO Staff

According to the Western College Hockey blog, forward Austin Czarnik committed to Michigan State last night.

Czarnik, a 5-foot-6, 140-pound Washington native, is a late 1992 birthdate, meaning the earliest he would join the Spartans would be 2011. Czarnik had an impressive showing at the Select 16 Festival which really raised his stock among colleges and also earned him a spot on the U.S. NTDP team for next season.

Last season, Czarnik, a cousin of incoming Michigan forward Robbie Czarnik, played for the Belle Tire minor midgets.
