MiCHO Power Poll 01.28.09

All the talk around college hockey this week has centered on the Michigan and Michigan State incident, but forgotten in all that was the Wolverines' sweep of MSU last weekend.

With those two wins, Michigan is still in the top spot in the MiCHO Power Poll.

Ferris State retains the No. 2 spot despite being idle.

The only change in the poll has MSU drop to No. 6 and Western Michigan jump to the fifth spot.

Complete Poll

1) Michigan, 18-8-0 (swept Michigan State)
2) Ferris State, 10-11-5 (idle)
3) Lake Superior State, 7-11-8 (split with Bowling Green)
4) Northern Michigan, 7-13-4 (beat, tied Alaska)
5) Western Michigan, 7-13-6 (tied, beat Ohio State)
6) Michigan State, 7-16-3 (swept by Michigan)
7) Michigan Tech, 5-18-5 (tied Alaska Anchorage twice)

Each week, MichiganCollegeHockey.com editors Matt Mackinder and Tom Balog will compile the MiCHO Power Poll. The poll will comprise the seven Division I teams in the state of Michigan.
