The 2008 Kelly Cup champion Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL announced today that they have signed Adrian College forward Adam Krug to a contract.

Krug, 25, signed with the Cyclones at the conclusion of the 2008-09 season for Adrian after the Bulldogs missed out on an NCAA Division III postseason berth despite posting a 27-1-1 record. Adrian won its final 26 games of the season to capture the Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association's regular-season and tournament titles.

Krug was the third-leading scorer in NCAA Division III hockey (netting the most by any senior player) with 22 goals and 30 assists for 52 points in just 28 games.

The 5-foot-11, 170 pounder from Livonia began his college career at Wayne State (2004-05) and played two seasons with the Warriors, collecting 18 goals and 24 assists for 42 points in 67 games. After sitting out the 2006-07 season, Krug transferred to Adrian in 2007 and was a two-time All-MCHA selection and a two-time All-Academic choice.

During 2007-08 season, Krug was the MCHA Player of the Year after turning in a 30-goal, 47-assist, 77-point effort in 29 contests. He was also selected as a West Region All-American and was Adrian's captain.

Krug has practiced with the Cyclones this week and is expected in the lineup for this weekend's (March 13 and 15) games at Johnstown and Trenton.
