Michigan connections at TC camp

Compiled by MiCHO Staff

The Detroit Red Wings annual training camp pilgrimage begins today and as usual, a wealth of Michigan collegiate talent dots the roster in Traverse City.

Former Michigan State Spartan Justin Abdelkader, fresh off his playoff success this past spring, will head back “Up North” with a solid shot at making the 2009-10 Wings roster.

New free agent addition Patrick Eaves will be attending his first Wings camp. Prior to playing three years for Boston College, Eaves laced up the skates for two seasons for the U.S. National Team Development Program in Ann Arbor.

Also playing in Traverse City are more former Michigan college and U.S. NTDP players:
Detroit - John Vigilante, Brett Lebda, Doug Janik, Jordan Pearce (all NTDP)
Atlanta - Patrick Galivan (WMU)
Columbus - Tim Miller (UM) - pictured
St. Louis - Aaron Palushaj (UM)
Dallas - Kevin DeVirgilio (Sterling Heights)

You missed one. Kevin Devirgilio (St. Lawrence) is from MI and played for Dallas.
