Michigan advances, tops Bemidji State

At the end of 20 minutes, it's Michigan 1, Bemidji State 0.

In the first semifinal, Miami escaped with a 2-1 win over Alabama-Huntsville.

Second period on tap.

Both goalies playing out of their minds - Shawn Hunwick for Michigan and Dan Bakala for Bemidji State. Wow!

Louie Caporusso makes it 2-0 Wolverines with a goal in the last minute of the second period.

Michigan takes a 2-0 lead into the locker room.

The third period is underway - almost five minutes in.

Still 2-0 Michigan - 12:45 to go in the third.

Ian Lowe gets BSU on the board at 10:24, but Carl Hagelin answers for U of M two minutes later. It's now 3-1 Michigan.

Hagelin with a shorthanded breakaway past Bakala and it's 4-1 Wolverines - 3:57 to go.

Now it's 5-1 Michigan - Brian Lebler at 18:02.

And it's over. Michigan advances to play Miami tomorrow for the Midwest Regional championship and the right to go to Ford Field in two weeks.
