Big Chill ticket sales put on ice - for now

Public ticket sales for "The Big Chill at the Big House," presented by Arby's, have been stopped, the University of Michigan Athletics Department announced last Thursday.

Demand for the outdoor hockey game between Michigan and Michigan State has generated sales of more than 100,000 tickets for the Dec. 11 showdown at Michigan Stadium. The remaining tickets are being held to meet the forthcoming student demand.

Student season ticket packages for football and hockey include a ticket to "The Big Chill at the Big House," presented by Arby's. U-M freshmen for the 2010-11 academic year will have an opportunity to purchase season tickets for football and hockey in June. All U-M students will have the chance to order a hockey season ticket in September.

Orders from football season ticket holders that are renewing their tickets on or before 5 p.m. on Friday, May 14, are being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

The general public may still request tickets by joining a waiting list. To join this waiting list, please e-mail (mtickets@umich.edu) or call (734-764-0247 or 866-296-6849) the University of Michigan Athletics Ticket Office with your name, email address, daytime phone number and requested number of tickets (limit of 4).
