Compiled by MiCHO Staff

The Wayne State University women’s hockey program has finalized its schedule for the upcoming 2010-11 season, which will begin Sept. 25 with an exhibition game at York University in Toronto.

Wayne State will open the regular season Homecoming Weekend with a home series Oct. 1-2 against Bemidji State at the City Sports Center. WSU will subsequently play its next eight games on the road.

Three of the eight 2010 NCAA Tournament qualifiers are on Wayne State’s schedule for 2010-11, including the University of Minnesota where WSU will play on Oct. 9 one day removed from a game at nearby St. Cloud State.

Series at Boston University (Oct. 15-16), which lost to College Hockey America champion Mercyhurst in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament last year, and Colgate (Oct. 22-23) will lead the Warriors into their first CHA series of the year Nov. 12-13 at Robert Morris.

Mercyhurst and Minnesota State will come to Detroit over the next two weekends before WSU heads to Syracuse (Dec. 3-4).

After a break for final exams and holidays, Wayne State will travel to Columbus for a New Years series against Ohio State (Dec. 30-31).

Wayne State will host Niagara, Quinnipiac and Syracuse during a six-game homestand beginning Jan. 14. After a trip to Mercyhurst (Feb. 4-5), the Warriors will wrap up their home schedule Feb. 11-12 against Robert Morris.

Following a trip to Niagara (Feb. 18-19) to close out the regular season, Wayne State will have an idle weekend prior to the start of the CHA Tournament, March 3-5 in Syracuse.
