Another USHLer picks Ferris State

USHL Press Release

The Tri-City Storm has announced that defenseman Simon Denis has committed to play collegiate hockey at Ferris State University beginning in the fall of 2011.

"I really enjoyed my trip out to Ferris. It felt like the right fit for me, and a place that I was wanted for next season," said Denis. "They are a program that is on the rise, and a place that I will have the opportunity to compete for a championship."

The 19-year-old is competing in his first USHL season and has collected five assists through 10 games. He dished out an assist in his first career game in the League, a shootout loss to Lincoln on October 1st.

Denis is a native of Burnaby, British Columbia.

"I want to get better on both sides of the ice and help the Storm win a championship," said Denis. "Being here in Kearney, I want to have an experience that I've never had before in junior hockey this season."

Denis will be joined at Ferris State by Storm teammate Dominic Panetta, who is also committed to the school. Waterloo Black Hawks goaltender C.J. Motte will also join the Bulldogs following his USHL career.
