Wolverines advance; Broncos skate home

The Michigan Wolverines move on to their 24th Frozen Four appearance after getting past the Colorado College Tigers, 2-1, at the Scott Trade Center in St. Louis, Missouri on Saturday night.

Scooter Vaughan and Lee Moffie scored first period markers and Shawn Hunwick made 21 saves for the Maize and Blue.

Michigan will face the winner of the Denver-North Dakota game at the Xcel Center in St. Paul, Minnesota on Thursday evening.

The Western Michigan Broncos closed a stunning season with a heartbreaking, 3-2, double-overtime loss to the Denver Pioneers at the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin on Saturday.

The Broncos squandered a 2-0 lead on goals by Derek Roehl and Trevor Elias and Jerry Kuhn made 35 saves in his final collegiate game.
