By Michael David/LSSU Beat Writer

Lake Superior State Lakers' netminder Kevin Kapalka has been named the CCHA Goaltender of the Week for his performance against the Northern Michigan Wildcats over the weekend.

In Friday night's 2-1 loss, Kapalka stopped 17 of 19 shots, and in Saturday's win, he made a season-high 44 saves. He also made some key saves when the Lakers were a man down late in the game, and NMU pulled their goalie for the extra attacker.

The Mississauga, Ont., native is now 10-6-2 on the season, ranked sixth in the CCHA in save percentage (.917), and ninth in goals-against average (2.42).
