Saturday... The Wayne State Warriors opened the 2004-2005 campaign with a solid, 3-1, exhibition win over the Queen's University Golden Gaels at Compuware on Saturday afternoon.
Freshmen Stavros Paskaris and Tylor Michel and Providence transfer Jason Bloomingburg scored a goal each. In net, Findlay transfer Will Hooper stopped 20 of 21 shots.
The Warriors outshot the Gaels, 50-21, for the game.
Wayne State will officially open the season at home against the Clarkson Golden Knights next Saturday afternoon in a 3:05 PM face-off at the Compuware Sports Arena in Plymouth.
