Five Wolverines named to U.S. World Jr. Team

This holiday season, five Michigan players will miss the Great Lakes Invitational, but instead will be representing the United States at the World Junior Hockey Championships in Grand Forks, N.D.

The Americans are the defending gold medalists.

Goalie Al Montoya will be joined by defenseman Matt Hunwick and forwards Kevin Porter, Mike Brown and T.J. Hensick at the annual event. Montoya backstopped the U.S. to its first-ever gold last year; Hunwick was also a part of that historic squad.

The tournament starts Christmas Day.
