Finlandia drops pair to Crookston

Finlandia hosted Minnesota-Crookston last weekend and lost both to the Golden Eagles.

In Friday's game, newcomer Jason Aldrich, a former HoneyBaked midget major captain, staked the Lions to a 1-0 lead 13:41 into the first period only to see Minnesota-Crookston score three unanswered goals and take a 3-1 win. Tyler Bilton started in net and took the loss making 23 saves. Joe Juntilla took over after the third goal and made eight saves.

Saturday, the Lions blew a 3-2 lead and lost 4-3 in overtime. Joe Lewis, Joe Welgos and Josh Paquette scored for Finlandia. Juntilla made 53 saves.

Finlandia (5-10-1, 4-5-1 MCHA) hosts Northland this weekend at the Houghton County Arena.
