Two Tech Players Receive Weekly Honors

Two seniors on the Michigan Tech Huskies earn Players of the Week honor's for their roles in the sweep of Minnesota and non-conference win against Notre Dame. Colin Murphy was named WCHA Offensive player of the week and INCH Nationaly Player of the Week. Cam Ellsworth was also named WCHA defensive player of the week.

Murphy put up 10 points in the three games MTU played this week, rising his total points to 38, good for third in the country, and bringing his assists to a NCAA leading 30. His offensive presence has aided the Huskies this second half and has been a huge reason why they have won 4 of their last 5 games, including a win at #5 Denver and a sweep of #4 Minnesota. Finally he is getting a bit of recognition he deserves.

Ellsworth put together another stellar weekend between the pipes, saving 113 of 119 shots (.950 save percentage) for the week and getting 3 wins. This is the second time in the last three weeks that he has earned this honor.
