NMU having Olver family reunion?

The Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL have announced that vice president of hockey operations and head coach John Olver has resigned, effective immediately.

Olver is pursuing a position as associate head coach with the hockey program at Northern Michigan University where his oldest son, Darin, will be a junior and his youngest son, Mark, is committed to attending in 2006. In 2004-05, Darin Olver led the Wildcats in scoring with 43 points in 40 games.

Olver, who had signed a three-year contract extension in May, was 228-100-32 in the regular season with the Steelheads, including 82-46-16 in the team’s first two ECHL seasons. Idaho won the Kelly Cup Championship in 2003-04.
