In addition to the standard 28-game Western Collegiate Hockey Association schedule, the Huskies will play eight non-conference tilts.
“As usual, we have one of the toughest schedules in the country,” said MTU head coach Jamie Russell. “We expect to compete against the best teams every year and it will be no different in 2007-08.”
Among Tech’s 17 regular-season home games, six will come in the first three weeks of the slate.
The Huskies host the University of Toronto Oct. 6 in their lone exhibition outing of the year, which pushes their total number of home dates to 18. The 19-game road schedule doesn’t begin until Nov. 2-3 when MTU travels to the Kohl Center for a series with Wisconsin.
“Starting with seven home dates certainly is exciting for a veteran team like we having come back,” said Russell. “It should give us a chance to build some momentum right away for our fans at the John MacInnes Student Ice Arena.”
