Broncos get Flink for '08-09

Texas Tornado veteran Adam Flink has committed to Western Michigan University for the fall of 2008.

"Obviously, I am very excited to be making this commitment," said Flink. "Western Michigan's hockey program has a great tradition and I am very excited to be playing in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association, which is one of the most competitive in college hockey."

The 2006-07 season was a career year for Flink. He more than doubled his point totals from the 2005-06 season. Flink played in 56 of the team's 62 regular-season games, scoring 22 points with a league-high 263 penalty minutes. However, Flink really stepped it up in the 2007 NAHL Robertson Cup playoffs, leading the Tornado in scoring with nine points in 10 games, as the Tornado fell one game short from going to their fourth straight national championship tournament.

An assistant captain during the 2006-07 season, Flink said he is excited to return to the Tornado for his final season of junior hockey in 2007-08.

Flink will join former Tornado teammate and current Bronco Tyler Ludwig, who will be entering his sophomore season this year with Western Michigan after a very successful freshman campaign. Flink and Ludwig were teammates on the 2005-06 national championship Tornado team.
