Huskies get USHL commitment

Compiled by MiCHO Staff

Waterloo Black Hawks captain Brett Olson has committed to play at Michigan Tech next season.

The Superior, Wisc., native is in his third season with the USHL's Black Hawks and has been on the injured reserve list since the beginning of the season with a shoulder injury.

In his first two seasons with the Black Hawks, the 20-year-old Olson played in 96 games, netting 18 goals and 18 assists. He was also instrumental on special teams, anchoring the Black Hawks' penalty kill.

Three other Waterloo players - defenseman Chad Billins (Ferris State) and forwards Kory Kaunisto (Northern Michigan) and Anthony Schooley (Michigan Tech) - have also committed to Michigan colleges for next season.
