Wayne State freshman goaltender Delayne Brian has been selected to participate in Hockey Canada's Women's Under-22 Strength and Conditioning/Skating Camp, to be held April 30-May 3 at Norma Bush Arena in Calgary.
The 47 players chosen will undergo fitness testing and skating drills during the four-day camp. Hockey Canada will also use the camp to provide players with additional off-ice training techniques as well as nutritional guidance.
After evaluating the players at this camp, Hockey Canada officials will make their selections for the August Under-22 camp, which will lead to selections for the National Women's Under-22 Team for the 2009-10 season.
Brian, from Winnipeg, finished her first collegiate season with a 15-6-0 mark, setting a school record with a .714 winning percentage. She posted a 2.72 goals-against average and an .898 save percentage in 21 starts, and led College Hockey America with a .910 save percentage in conference action.
