The Wayne State Warriors began their tenth season of play with a 3-2 exhibition win over the York Lions on Friday night.
Julie Ingratta, Micheline Frappier, and Gina Buquet all scored by the 5:14 mark of the second period to push the Green and Gold to a 3-0 lead.
Lindsey Park started between the pipes for WSU and stopped 9 of 10 shots. Brittany Zeches came in near the midway part of the game and turned aside 6 of 7 shots.
Jennifer Petkovics and Autumn Mills lit the lamp for York and Syndey McMurter recorded 30 saves.
Wayne State will begin regular season play next weekend in Troy, N.Y. against the Rensselaer Engineers. The Warriors will return to their home ice at the City Sports Center on October 16 to begin a two-game set against the Boston University Terriers.
