Huskies' winless streak reaches 26

By Andy Bourdeau/Michigan Tech Beat Writer

Michigan Tech was hoping that Winter Carnival and a lower WCHA oppenent in Bemidji State would mean an end to the winless streak, but it was not.

The Huskies managed one point on the weekend, tying the Beavers Friday night, 2-2 and losing Saturday, 1-0.

Friday night, BSU took an early 1-0 lead, but saw goals from Patrick McCadden and Milos Gordic turn the lead in the other direction. Not until late in the third did the Beavers tie it.

Both team had chances in the overtime, but were unable to find the back of the net.

Saturday, both teams played pretty well defensively and only until a blue line breakdown and breakaway with three minutes remaining did the 0-0 tie end.

Kevin Genoe was spectacular in net all weekend, but was unable to get a win for the Huskies.

MTU travels for Denver this weekend, still looking to end the winless streak, which is currently at 26 games.
