Broncos Climb Past .500

Make it four for four for the Western Michigan Broncos (7-6-1, 3-6-1 CCHA) as they swept the visiting Alabama-Huntsville Chargers at the Lawson Arena in Kalamazoo over the weekend

The pair win gives the Broncos a perfect 4-0 record against College Hockey America teams this season with two more games to go. The Brocs swept through the Niagara Purple Eagles at home on November 5th and 6th and will host the Bemidji State Beavers on December 17th and 18th.

As usual, the Bellissimo brothers led the way to the Broncos 5-1 victory in Friday’s opener with Vince scoring a goal and assist and Daniel making 35 stops in net.

Jeff Pierce was Saturday’s hero with a pair of power-play goals in the Broncos 3-1 win. Bellissimo stopped another 30 shots between the pipes giving him 63 saves for the weekend.

The Broncs will return to CCHA play with a home-and-home series against the Ferris State Bulldogs beginning in K’Zoo on Friday evening.
