Lake Superior State will be shorthanded for its series with Bemidji State this weekend.
In addition to goalie Matt Violin, injured last weekend against Northern Michigan, forward Mike Adamek and defenseman Kory Scoran could also miss games against the Beavers because of injuries.
Meanwhile, three defensemen – junior Mark Adamek, sophomore Barnabas Birkeland and freshman John Nogatch – have been dismissed from the team after violating unspecified team rules.
With four of his top six defensemen gone, LSSU head coach Frank Anzalone has been forced to juggle personnel. Forwards Alex Dunn and Steve McJannett have moved to the blue line, and walk-ons Eric Hill and Justin Gutwald have been thrust into the lineup.
