Finlandia picked up four huge MCHA points over the weekend in their two-game sweep at home against Northland.
Friday night, Joe Juntilla made 24 saves for the Lions (7-10-1, 6-5-1 MCHA) and Joe Welgos, Mike Parks and Joe Lewis scored for the home team.
The next night, Trevor Morrison scored with seven seconds left to lift FU to a 5-4 win. Lewis scored a pair and Welgos and Parks (three assists) added singles. Juntilla stopped 21 shots and Josh Chapman had two assists.
The Lions travel to Minnesota-Crookston this weekend for two conference games. Game time Friday is 8:00 p.m. with a 3:00 p.m. puck drop Saturday afternoon.
The Finlandia women were idle last weekend, but travel to Wisconsin-Superior this weekend.
