NMU gets '07-08 commitment, leadership

The USHL's Tri-City Storm have announced that forward and team captain Mario Lamoureux has committed to play college hockey at Northern Michigan University.

The 18-year-old Lamoureux, a third-year Storm player, will join the Wildcats for the 2007-08 season. He has played in 120 games during a Storm career that began during the 2004-05 season. In those games, he has scored 21 goals and added 34 assists for 55 points and has 205 penalty minutes. This season he has a goal in four games.

"Mario is one of our most experienced players and still one of the youngest on our team," said Storm coach-GM Bliss Littler. "He has many roles for us and this year, as well as last, he has been one of our leaders. Northern Michigan is getting a very good hockey player and an outstanding kid."
